For the summer, I’m switching my #TBT fun to cassettes. Cassettes had a more summertime feel to them as they were good to go for long car trips, beaches, or other places that LP records were not an option.
Check out this cassette of the Femmes’ first. It was played about 1 Million times since I bought it in ’83.
“I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record.”

The Principle of Moments
Es Paranza / Atlantic Records
Released 33 years ago this week, this was Robert Plant‘s second solo album and scored a big hit with one of my favorite tunes, “Big Log.” Guitarist Robbie Blunt sounds ridiculously like Jimmy Page here!
Madness (US Version)
This is US their major label debut, which compiled earlier singles and tracks from the UK.
In a week of everyone sharing David Bowie memories, here’s my favorite Bowie LP. It’s not the favorite of the critics or many fans. But it’s top of my list due to the the album’s guitarist: Stevie Ray Vaughan!
Shape of Things to Come (10″ Import)
This rare 10″ was issued in the UK in 1983 during The Kinks comeback and featured the band’s biggest hits from 1964-1970. Love this record!
